Another Reason Why!

If you ever wondered why good qualified people don’t run for office all you have to do is look at the way the “Lame Stream Media” takes apart any candidate they don’t like. The next thing you know they will be interviewing grade school teacher’s to see if a candidate played nicely at recess.

The point being that we all have those moments in our lives where we didn’t use the best judgement, had some questionable friends or just basically screwed up in some way. Unfortunately, when someone from the conservative side of our society is subject to scrutiny by the main stream media it is headline news but when it is liberal leaning individual it is quietly ignored or viewed as “youthful indiscretion”.

This is not to say that there are not “questionable” people running from both categories. If you only listen to the noise, it would seem that we are are heading to a Taliban like Cbristian Theocracy or a Socialist/Marxist Society. I hope cooler heads are elected and government returns to what it should be doing, protecting our constitutional rights and defending our country. Leave religion out of it, leave social engineering out of it, and stay out of the private sector!

After the loss of our founder, Ken Campbell, it has taken some to to sort out my business and personal schedule so that I could resume this blog. I intend to try and post at least a few times a week going forward and hope that I can contribute something useful toward bring COMMON SENSE back into the American Culture.

If you happen by our site today check out the profile of our founder Ken Campbell who passed away earlier this year. Another veteran who’s many life experiences brought him to the understanding that without “common sense” in our lives and government we are lost.

Remember “common sense” when you go in the voting booth this November and in 2012!

I have read and heard that the POTUS is not going to Arlington this Memorial Day breaking a very long standing tradition. What will he do next to show his disdain for our Military?

You wouldn’t think there were any more ways for the liberals to show their distain for our military and veterans but lo and behold, take a look at Obama Care.]

Options 95, 96 and 97 in the CBO Report call for dramatic increases in fees charged to the families of active duty personnel, more cost sharing for retired military on Tricare For Life and more cost sharing for veterans using the VA Medial System.

Where are the legislators who have served in the military? If they vote for this bill, they are doing a horrible disservice to their comrades in arms.

Another answer to Health Care?

What if there was no health insurance? What if hospitals, doctors, drug companies, etc all of a sudden knew that there was no “credit card” to pay the outrageous bills we are presented after a hospital visit? Do you suppose that costs would go down?

Let’s attack this from the ground up.

Let’s educate doctors for free! No student loans to pay back drops their overhead a bunch.

Real Tort Reform. It is not a perfect world. There is a reason they call it “practicing medicine”. Make the system recognize human limitations and the real complexity of medical practice. There is a huge difference between a missed diagnosis and cutting off the wrong leg.

Reduce the cost of bringing drugs to market. The FDA is long overdue for overhaul.

This is just a few of the idea’s that I have or have heard in conversation with others. If you have others, send them my way and I will post them.

Common Census??

I just received a letter from the Census Bureau telling me I am going to receive a letter with my census form in it? I was sure everyone watched the multi-million dollar Super Bowl ad telling all of us the census was coming!!

No wonder this country is going broke!!

Even with the results of 3 recent elections going to moderate republicans, the democrats seem to insist on pursuing a health care bill that the public has made very clear they don’t want. Even with the coming “bi-artisan” conference it appears the intent is to shove it through with the reconciliation options if necessary. If they are successful, they will continue to push other “Nanny State” positions that will drag us closer and closer to socialism.

On the other side, the republicans aren’t getting the message of moderation either. It appears that the Tea Party movement is being hijacked by the Ultra Conservative segment of the party and that will be too bad. The recent election wins by the republicans are definite indicators that the vast amount of Americans want to be governed from the center right and they want both parties to stay out of their private lives regarding social issues.

It has been some time since I have had the inclination to write another blog. The sudden if not unexpect loss of Restoring Common Sense Founder, Ken Campbell, who was a source of great ideas and passion about “Common Sense” kind of slowed down the mental process. I know Ken would want me to continue the quest to “Restore Common Sense” so I will be back at it, hopefully on a daily basis.

For those friends of Ken’s who have wanted information about services, etc. I am in communications with his son, Jeff, who has told me that the immediate arrangements were handled privately per Ken’s instructions and that there may be a memorial service in the Washington PA. area some time this spring. When I have specific information I will post it on the blog.

The loss of a Warrior!

It is my unfortunate task to inform the readers of the this blog of the death of our Founder and President, Ken Campbell. I received a call from his son Jeff yesterday afternoon letting me know Ken had died tuesday evening.

For those who would be interested, contact me at steve@restoringcommonsense.org and I will forward any information I get about any arrangements.

I know Ken would want us all to keep up the work of trying to restore common sense back into our society and government and I hope that I can pick up the ball and run with it. I will sure try.
